Tinker Art Tots Playgroup
Ages 1 – 3
Our Tinker Art Tots playgroups are child-led and filled with open ended, sensory arts and play stations for children to EXPLORE, THINK, CONNECT and CREATE.
These playgroups run across 120 mins in our studio space, which has access to a soft play area as well as access to some beautiful greenery. We spend the first hour in our studio’s curious play zone. Children explore freely among our many different creative and sensory set ups organised by our play coach. If the weather it good, we reserve some time to spend outside in the garden with lots of outdoor play and water play, then end with song and dance!
Monthly themes
We set our playgroups on a monthly theme. Our fine motor and gross motor skill activities in our playgroups are changed each week, so that your child has something new to anticipate.
Open-ended fine and gross motor activities
Research conducted at University College London, IOE (UCL) has shown gross motor skills were positively associated with spatial working memory, whereas fine motor skills were predictive of good English and science outcomes. (Zhou Y, Tolmie A)
There is a significant role played by of both gross and fine motor skills in cognitive development of children.
At the playhouse we put focus on giving children arts and sensory play activities to practice and exercise these skills, supporting them in being ‘school ready’.
Competency Based Learning
Our playgroups are aligned with Competency based learning (CBL) objectives. Tinker Art Tots are designed to give your child space to EXPLORE different ways of playing, both independently and collaboratively, time to focus and THINK about what they are engaging with, CONNECT with the objects and people around them, so they can CREATE new learning competencies and advance to higher level activities when they are ready

Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Morning sessions : 9:00am -11:00am
Afternoon sessions : 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Tuesday and Thursday sessions are Chinese immersive (Mandarin or Cantonese) sessions led by our Native Chinese speaking early childhood educators
